 Mission:

The Mental Health Council of Arkansas exists for the purpose of insuring that appropriate community-based mental and behavioral healthcare is available throughout the State of Arkansas in a manner which is accessible, balanced, affordable, and quality driven.

 

 

Mental Health Council of Arkansas Guiding Principles:

>       A holistic approach to mental and behavioral healthcare which supports and promotes the optimal social, health and economic well-being for all of the people in the State of Arkansas.

>       "Quality-driven" mental and behavioral healthcare that recognizes the dignity, rights and strengths of the individuals, families and groups served; coordinates services in the best interest of the consumer; and provides assistance from competent, effective and caring professionals.

>       A balanced mental and behavioral healthcare system, developed and maintained, consistent with the varied demographic, cultural and mental health needs of each region and community within the State of Arkansas.

>       Comprehensiveness including a range of preventive, treatment and rehabilitative mental and behavioral healthcare modalities within a single unified community-based service system.

>       Community governance of each regional mental and behavioral healthcare system, in partnership with State authorities, as the appropriate means to establish and maintain a stable state-wide network of geographically accessible mental and behavioral healthcare.
